Depression Anxiety Stress Trauma Anger Grief
Mental health issues affect almost half of all Australians. While our often busy and demanding lifestyles can result in poor mental health, there is extensive support for those experiencing mental health issues.
Introductory Program
Depression Anxiety Stress Trauma Anger Grief
The Big Six Made Simple is a program that was designed and developed by Sofia Fisher, from the original concept put forward by Brian Grimmer the Managing Director of the multi-national, Present Group of companies. Brian observed and identified a number of factors that have impacted negatively on his colleagues and staff members. This half-day program provides an introduction and offers support on the six most common mental health issues likely to result in absenteeism or non-attendance and presenteeism, which is being physically present but unable to be productive in the work place. This program has been designed for a group between four and ten participants.
The big six consists of depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, anger and grief. This program provides information on these often sensitive issues in an easy-to-understand manner through an interactive forum. The program is also designed to de-mystify psychology by providing information to help those who may be experiencing difficulties in any of these areas, as well as providing strategies to support work colleagues, who may also be experiencing difficulties.
Individual Programs
Depression Anxiety Stress Trauma Anger Grief
Following the introductory program, each of The Big Six Made Simple may be presented in its own individual program, to explore one of the six areas (depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, anger or grief) in more depth. Each of these programs may vary from two to four hours, with four to ten participants. Simplicity is the key and the program is presented in an interactive format. The format begins with an overview of the definition and the major signs and symptoms of the individual area. In the next section, participants are given information on the strategies that psychologists may use and then they are given the opportunity to perform some of these strategies. Further information on self-help as well as ideas to provide help to a co-worker is given, followed by the opportunity to put a number of these interventions into practise.
